Don Motley
Owner and Instructor
Hi everyone! I’m Don Motley and I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you a little about myself, my background, and why I love to teach. I studied at Drury University, I am a former Law Enforcement Officer who is post certified (meaning I teach current Law Enforcement officers), Theft and Fraud Investigator for Home Depot, and an NRA Firearms Instructor. I’ve had a passion for Law Enforcement from an early age and wanted to help those who couldn’t help themselves, to learn more about our criminal justice system, and have the opportunity to work with some of the best men and women in the profession and have learned so much over the years. The training and their desire to help you learn, not only to be a better officer, a better person. I continue to learn new and updated training as it is developed.
I decided later in life to do what I love and to share what I’ve learned from many great people. I teach people a mindset and the skills to protect themselves and their loved ones, the safe way to own and operate their firearms and it is important to me to provide a safe and professional place to learn and grow your skills. I want everyone to feel welcome no matter age, gender, or race.
Stacy Wood
Instructor and Private Investigator
Hey everyone! I’m Stacy Wood and I wanted to tell you a little bit about myself. I’m currently studying Criminal Justice at Eastern Gateway, I’m a self-defense instructor, an NRA Certified Instructor, and a Private Investigator. I’ve always had a passion to help people but it wasn’t until the last few years, once the kiddos were older, that I pursued my dreams and passion. Growing up and watching domestic violence occur in our home, a place that was suppose to be safe, I grew up thinking that’s just the way life is. After personally experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault, I knew I had to do something to help others. After a very long process of finding my self-esteem and self-worth, I realized that there are so many people that need help. In my journey, my goal is to help as many women and children as I possibly can. Who better to help than someone who has experienced it? Don Motley Gun Instruction, for me, is about empowering women to stand up for themselves, to help them find their inner strength and self-esteem, to let them know there is help. Our classroom is a nonjudgemental and safe environment to learn. Find the courage and take that first step. See you in class.
